Progress Energy

Progress Energy is the electric utility for Raleigh, North Carolina where I live. The major utility providers in North Carolina are Progress and Duke Energy.

When I got my latest bill from Progress Energy, I noticed something interesting. These guys are now trying to peddle "Electric Surge Protection" as a service ! Talk about getting the wolf to guard the chickens ... Arent these guys supposed to ensure that there are no electric surges ?
